D A V Public School , Parasi was established in the year 1989 in the residential complex of Kakri Project of Northern Coalfields Ltd. Dist- Sonebhadra, Uttar Pradesh . It is quite close to the state highway 5A which connects to the cities of Varanasi and Prayagraj (erstwhile Allahabad) which are hardly 200 and 300 Kms away from here respectively. Both the cities are renowned for their historical as well as religious aspects. . The school is a Higher Secondary, co-education school funded by Northern Coalfields Ltd whose mission is to educate the children of their employees and those of the illiterate and ignorant people of the surrounding villages. It adheres to the pay structure recommended by the Central Pay Commission. NCL provides residential quarters and other facilities to the Principal and staff of the school.
The school fulfils the basic parameters of a well established institution. There are highly educated and experienced faculties and efficient office staff for the smooth functioning and execution of the work. There are 40 teaching and 11 non-teaching staff members and around 1200 students in the school. It has a properly maintained building with smart board in class rooms and well equipped Science, Social Science, Mathematics and computer laboratories. Besides, it has an assembly ground, a huge play ground for sports and other activities, a well furnished library, a good number of rooms to accommodate a large number of students and a small garden of roses, flowers and beautiful plants. The school values quality education, holistic development, moral values, life skills and Indian culture. Following the policy of central and state Government, the school aims to educate the children of economically backward families, so that, they can have a bright future and can withstand the global competition. Teachers implement innovative approaches to make the classroom teaching and learning process interesting. Creative teaching, audio-visual aids, real world learning, brainstorming classes outside the classroom, role-play and storyboard teaching stimulates the students mind.
The School has organised Vedic Camp in the year 2001 following the principles of Arya Samaj. Classwise Hawan is performed every Saturday as per the DAV guidelines. Every year the school conducts Mahatma Hansraj tournaments at cluster level. The children actively participate in inter school sports and games, elocution competitions, dance and singing competitions. Yoga, meditation and drill etc are placed on upper pedestal, in order to achieve the overall development of students. The students of the school has represented it in kabaddi, chess and dance competition at National Level. The National Level kabaddi team comprises of the strong and vibrant players of our school.
Over all the school is catering to the needs of the learners by mustering strategies to become global epicentre of knowledge, culture, skills, technology, research and service.
